ECU / East Carolina University Health Physicians and ECU Health Ophthalmology of Greenville, North Carolina, are seeking a full-time Optometrist to join our expanding ophthalmology program in Greenville, NC. Candidates with an interest in resident education and residency program development are encouraged to apply.
ECU Health Medical Center is a tertiary referral center with a large population of patients with complex problems and pathologies. ECU Health Ophthalmology is hiring providers of all specialties for a robust multi-specialty practice and plans to develop a teaching program on-site. There is a large hospital based and local optometrist and ophthalmologist-based referral network with few other providers in the region.
Highlights:

· Outpatient clinic conveniently located near hospital with state-of the art equipment
· Perform comprehensive eye exams and additional specialized testing and therapy as indicated for new and established patients
· Diagnose and assist in the treatment of ocular disease; conduct diabetic eye exams and evaluation of dry eye disease, cataracts and glaucoma
· Order and interpret diagnostic images such as corneal topography and tomography, fluorescein angiography, specular microscopy, corneal pachymetry, anterior and posterior segment OCT, ocular photography, and other special study instruments
· Prescribe corrective spectacles and contact lenses
· Provide pre- and post-operative care to surgical patients
· Conduct low vision evaluations
· Triage and handle urgent eye concerns and emergencies
· Partake in rotating call for the practice
· Opportunities for teaching and program development
