The Vision of the Valley Community Healthcare is High Quality Healthcare for All.
The mission of Valley Community Healthcare is to enhance the well-being of the community by providing high quality, culturally sensitive primary medical care and related healthcare services to those in need, regardless of their ability to pay.
We achieve our mission by providing a full array of services that includes primary and some specialty care, dental, optometry, pediatrics, women's health, prenatal services, behavioral health, counseling and health education with an emphasis on prevention.
The Clinic helps to ensure that our Local Emergency Rooms are available for Real Emergencies:
Valley Community Healthcare's provision of preventative and chronic care services to the low-income community helps keep almost 20,000 uninsured patients out of our local emergency rooms. The more patients we can see, the fewer men, women and children end up in emergency rooms for non-critical illnesses and situations.
Valley Community Healthcare is a vital, integral component of the real and economic health of the San Fernando Valley.
Valley Community Healthcare Saves both Tax Payer Dollars and Employer Costs:
Due to its efficiency and community support, a doctor visit to Valley Community Healthcare costs only 65% of the provision of comparable services elsewhere.
The Valley's business sector comprises primarily small businesses, many of which are unable to provide employee healthcare benefits. Valley Community Healthcare provides preventative primary care to thousands of uninsured workers and their families every year, keeping our workforce healthy, keeping business productivity up and workplace illnesses down.
With the Clinic’s provision of preventive care, far less time is lost from work – lost time that can cost employers millions of dollars.
We Provide Fundamentally Essential Services:
How Are We Funded?
Valley Community Healthcare became a Federally Qualified Health Care facility in 2005, and is funded by a mix of County, State, and Federal funds, private grants, and donations from the community. In addition, Valley Community Healthcare receives more than 1 million in donated goods and services every year.
The Clinic is also a Medi-Cal provider of choice. Non Medi-Cal patients pay on a sliding scale if they do not qualify for a funded program, or if the program has been cut due to lack of financing.
