High volume MD and OD (peer relationship here) ophthalmic/optometric/optical practice. Very high pathology level and MUST understand ocular disease, must understand treatment options, must understand what you don't understand, willing to stretch yourself as never before. Due to Obama Care the practice is bursting at the seams and I need someone very strong, motivated, and enthusiastic. Compassion critical. This practice is very stable. Roots of practice almost 90 years old. Room for tremendous personal and financial growth. Both general ophthalmology as well as retinal subspeciality trained MD with 25 years of clinical practice. Used to teach optical disease at OCLA and have been strongly associated with optometrists throughout my career. Experience of two years post graduate (hopefully with ocular disease fellowship) with experience in cataract, glaucoma and retinal post operative care, glaucoma co-management. This is the chance for an ability to learn or do fluorescein angiography, A-scans, IOL master, gonioscopy, excellent refractionist (redos generally not wanted), able to guide optician and help sell glasses as well as dealing with complex retinal detachments. I am a teacher by destiny and it is something I love to do. Comfortable with and excited about treating people with sometimes severe ocular pathology, taking people with LP vision and helping them become 20/20. The ability to be part of the rehabilitation team. Basically skilled, experienced, fast, personable, smart with a great sense of humor. Is this one for you? If you 'get it' this is for you!
