Dr. Alwan received his medical degree from Damascus University and then completed his internship and residency training at Saint Vincent's Medical Center of Richmond in New York. Dr. Alwan is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Alwan has vast experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology including: High-risk Obstetrics, advanced Gynecologic surgery, minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery, Urogynecology and hormone replacement therapy.
Dr. Alwan has received extensive training in advanced laparoscopic and robotic procedures. He was awarded the "Patients Choice Award" and a "Most Compassionate Doctor" in 2010. Dr. Alwan is the Chief of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center.
