Physician Assistant Job Opening for Busy Urgent Care in Whittier, CA
Current opening for a part time Physician Assistant with Family Medicine or Urgent Care experience.
Exciting opportunity to join an established, well-respected group with a supportive team in abusy full-service Urgent Care. Monday-Friday 2pm to 10pm. Saturday 9am to 2pm. Part-time position (8-20 hours per week). Competitive salary.
The Physician Assistant will be responsible for providing clinical assessment and care management for various types of patients, under the general supervision of attendingphysicians. The services that the Office includes general acute care medical visits for adults and
pediatric patients. The PA is to provide direct patient care, including assessment of patients,
triaging and managing patient problems, performing minor procedures, prescribing medication,
creating a treatment plan, and providing the full scope of care for acute care patients. The
PA will be responsible for communication and feedback with patients, families, and referring
physicians for the care provided. The PA must be self directed and function with minimal direct
supervision.
The Physician Assistant functions independently within defined scope of practice. Medical
director and other faculty are available for general supervision of daily clinical and patient care
activities; however the PA evaluates and treats patients independently.
Qualifications/Skills: Qualified candidate must excel in interpersonal communication and
customer service and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Candidatemust also excel in organization and attention to details and follow through. Additionally, they
must have the ability to problem solve to logical conclusion and demonstrate initiative andresponsibility. Must be able to effectively and clearly communicate (written and verbal) in
English. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Urgent care experience preferred.
Experience: Prior experience in an ambulatory care environment.
Education: Graduate education. Certificate from an accredited Physician Assistant program with
board certification. CPR for healthcare provider card.
