This position reports directly to the Managing Physician. This position’s main responsibility is to treat and provide health care services to patients under the direction and responsibility of the physician. This position is Monday through Friday, standard business hours.

Responsibilities:

• In depth understanding of pain mechanisms and medication management.
• Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of physician.
• Evaluates the outcome of patient care
• Basic surgical skills with an emphasis in spine and pain management procedures
• Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved practice protocols
• Observes patient and documents condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents
• Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, and health maintenance
• Arranges referrals, consultations, diagnostic testing, therapeutic services, and confers with other specialist on course of care and treatment

Requirements:

• Certified Physician Assistant
• Desire to develop more in depth understanding of pain management
• Willingness to learn and apply intergrative approaches to patient care
• Experience working with patients
• Experience with Pain Management and Ortho-Spine
• Experience in outpatient surgery a plus
