About Optometric Care Associates
We are the textbook example of a well-managed, patient-centric, independent private practice. We were founded in 1978, survived, and thrived in a very competitive market area by community outreach and a high level of patient satisfaction and loyalty. In a time of consolidation, we are the practice other local ODs want to join. Our doctors are early adopters to new clinical and practice management techniques with instrumentation including Electronic Health Records, On-line appointments and web presence, On-Site optical fabrication, OCT, and OPTOS. We believe in continual learning and improvement in our practice of vision care. We take pride in excellent primary care and remember our roots in providing the best refractive care possible with every available optical option in glasses and contact lenses.
We are proud of our strong network of ocular specialists and co-manage and consult almost daily with OMDs in the retina, cataract extraction, ocular plastics, Lasik, cornea, and pediatrics. Our founding OD also has a stand-alone Vision therapy Office that treats binocular dysfunctions, concussion, Neuro-Optometry, and Sports Vision. Our research has been presented at the AAO, COVD, NORA, and recently at the Stanford Concussion Summit and the Society of Brain Mapping Technology (SBMT).
Our practice has a large community service footprint. Our out-reach includes coordination of SLOLIONSEYES.org, a countywide school vision screening program that along with our First5 preschool screening program provides an MCT diagnostic exam for every child in our county at over 75 locations. We also provide service and advocacy for at-risk youth, the homeless, the incarcerated, and brain-injured with training programs for parents, school nurses, and social workers. We have supported/initiated many of these community programs since the 1980s and they an integral part of our practice identity.
We cordially invite interested doctors to visit and see for themselves this opportunity!
