Castle Family Health Centers, Inc., in partnership with Bloss Memorial Healthcare District, is a multi-disciplinary Federally Qualified Health Center Look-Alike committed to improving the quality and service of health provided to the residents of Atwater and surrounding communities of Merced County. The health center offers the following services: Adult Day Health Care, Allergy/Immunology, Audiology, Behavioral Health, Cardiology, Dermatology, Dentistry, Ear, Nose and Throat, General Surgery, Infectious Diseases, Internal Medicine, Laboratory, Nephrology, Optometry, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, Pharmacy, Pulmonology, Radiology, Urgent Care, Urology, and Women’s Health. The Eye Center is located at the former Castle Air Force Base site and plays an integral part in providing the community with state-of-the art eye care services. There is regular interaction with different departments and internal referrals are frequent.
The population is mainly Hispanic and Caucasian in race. There are a wide variety of age groups represented from newborns to the elderly with a greater representation in the pediatric and middle-aged groups. There is a large presence of ocular disease, and a substantial number of binocular vision disorders and specialty contact lenses.
