Summary:
The Physician Assistant works in collaboration with the medical director to oversee all matters related to medical services and Medication Assisted Treatment. Reports to the CEO.
Qualifications:
Current Physician Assistant License issued by the Medical Board of California. Knowledge of medication assisted treatments and various aspects of addiction and co-occurring disorders. Proficient charting; valid California Driver’s License and evidence of automobile insurance coverage. Professional appearance and pleasant mannerism. Must pass background check.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Responsible for providing medical services in collaboration with the Medical Director
· Implement treatment plans
· Provide consultations to clients regarding Medication Assisted Treatment (ie: vivitrol, Sublocade, suboxone)
· Collaborate with the Medical Director on providing incidental medical services (IMS)
· Increase the utilization of MAT Services in the residential programs
· Collect and complete required data and paperwork as applicable to contractual obligations
Essential Job Functions:
· Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment including computers, copiers, calculators and fax machines.
· Must be able to prepare correspondence.
· Must be able to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions.
· Must be able to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, to follow oral and written instructions.
· Must be able to communicate effectively.
